This is my first attempt at disk partitioning stuff -- any help, please?

I aim to create a simple utility which will read a Linux user's IDE disks,
get the partitions and filesystems, and allow them to edit their Grub 
options.

As at 16 Nov 2002, I'm having trouble with Extended Partitions....
Anyone in the know fancy offering some help?
